New Haircuts

I found a fabulous childrens hair salon in Wilmington (Thank you Kelly!!) so while my car was being serviced I walked over there with the kids. William had a blast flying the airplane and did not even notice his hair was being cut! Lillian did pretty well, and was happy to have a lolly-pop and a new bow at the end!!
Bill made is safely to Georgia and has passed the Marine Corps PFT and inprocessing for Jump School. Monday he takes the Army PFT adn then the fun begins!! Enjoy some more pictures from the link below:

At The Beach

This past week/weekend we were treated to a mini vacation in a beach house on the beach here on base. We absolutely enjoyed ourselves and our time together. It was so nice to relax (Bill especially) and just spend some quality time together enjoying the sun and sand! For more pictures follow the link below!
Bill finished up his last trip with General Hejlik today, and Wednesday is officially his last day as his Aide. The end has come about quickly (although there were times it could not come fast enough!), but we are so grateful for everything this past year, mostly our friends and family! Enjoy!

Bill's Award Ceremony

This past Friday the children and I were privileged to be present at an award ceremony honoring Bill for his service to Lt General Hejlik as his Aide for the last year. Bill was presented with a Meritorious Service Medal, an award that is typically not given to Captains, but is a high award held for field grade officers. Listening to what General Hejlik had to say about Bill was enough to bring me to tears and seeing how truly surprised and humbled Bill was to be presented with such a high award, far exceeding his highest expectations, (which he had none, as he always does when doing his job), made this past year and all its struggles and hardships well worth it. Weekend Fun!

We had a great weekend spending time with friends and together as a family. Friday we had friends over and the kids had a great time playing with each other (as you can see!!). Lillian begins her next round of swim lessons today and very much wanted a pair of swim goggles to help her swim. We gave in, and much to our surprise, they have not left her head or face since!! She is doing everything with them: eating, playing, sitting, and yes, taking a bath. I have drawn the line at sleeping! Enjoy some more pictures at our web site!

Back from New York

We had a wonderful time in New York visiting with my parents as well as my sister, her husband Will and their son Charlie. Lillian and William took very quickly to their cousin, and loved being very close to him and Lillian of course wanted to help in any way she could! My sister, Will and I also ran the Cazenovia 4th of July 5k, and we all did very well! I did a personal best and actually finished 3rd in my age group (25-29) which I was very surprised, but thrilled with! Allison and I are now in full training mode for the Boulder Half Marathon on September 20th!
The kids and I made it safely back after a LONG drive down 95 South yesterday. We are in the final few weeks in North Carolina, and Bill is in the final days of his job as a General's Aide. Bittersweet, but the time has come and we are ready to move on! As promised, I have put pictures from Brooke's wedding, Mark and Kerry's and our NY visit on the web site, here are the links! Enjoy!!

Kerry and Mark's

The kids and I had a fabulous time at Aunt Kerry and Uncle Mark's earlier this week. They got to play and run around with Brett and Baby Sarah as well as their dog Kaya (which William and I fell in love with!!). Lillian loved holding baby Sarah and being a "big girl" with her was so much fun! It was so much fun to see them and spend a few days just relaxing and watching the kids have a blast!!
